The cleansing step is easy to overlook, but it is an important part of any body-care routine.

At The Smel Gud Shop, our Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap combines goat milk with plant oils, magnesium chloride, arnica and bergamot essential oil in a handcrafted cleansing bar designed to create a rich, creamy lather.

It is part of our broader Magnesium & Arnica collection and pairs naturally with our Body Butter, Spray and Epsom Salt Scrub for customers who enjoy building a consistent body-care routine.

What Makes Goat Milk Soap Different?

Goat milk is commonly used in handcrafted soap because it contributes to the feel and character of the finished bar.

Our soap also contains coconut, palm and safflower oils along with vegetable-origin glycerin. Together, these ingredients help create a creamy cleansing experience.

Rather than making treatment claims about goat milk itself, we focus on what the finished soap is designed to do:

  • cleanse the skin

  • create a creamy lather

  • rinse clean

  • fit easily into an everyday bath or shower routine

If your skin tends to be very sensitive or you have eczema, it is worth noting that dermatologists generally recommend mild, fragrance-free cleansers because fragrance can irritate some sensitive skin.

Because our Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap contains bergamot essential oil, individual tolerance can vary.

Where Magnesium Fits

Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in normal muscle and nerve function.

That nutritional role is well established, but it is important not to assume that magnesium in a rinse-off soap provides the same effects as dietary magnesium or oral supplementation.

Research on topical magnesium remains limited. A 2026 skin-permeation study found that intact skin strongly limits magnesium movement through the skin under normal conditions.

For that reason, we do not describe this soap as a way to increase magnesium levels, relieve pain, reduce inflammation or treat muscle soreness.

Instead, magnesium chloride is one of the ingredients that makes this soap part of The Smel Gud Shop's broader Magnesium & Arnica body-care collection.

What About Arnica?

Arnica has a long history of topical use in herbal traditions and has been studied in certain topical preparations for pain-related outcomes.

However, research on an arnica cream or gel cannot automatically be transferred to a rinse-off soap containing arnica.

Our soap is therefore positioned as a cleansing body-care product, not a pain treatment or healing product.

That distinction allows us to appreciate the ingredient without claiming the soap provides effects that have not been demonstrated for this particular formulation.

A Simple Cleanse-and-Moisturize Routine

One of the easiest ways to use the Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap is as the first step in a simple body-care routine.

Step 1 — Cleanse

Wet the skin and lather the soap between your hands or onto a washcloth.

Step 2 — Wash gently

Use the creamy lather to cleanse the body without aggressive scrubbing.

Step 3 — Rinse thoroughly

Rinse away all soap residue with comfortable warm water.

Step 4 — Moisturize

After drying off, apply your preferred moisturizer while the skin still feels comfortable and hydrated.

Dermatologists commonly recommend applying moisturizer after bathing, particularly for people prone to dry skin.

Pairing It With Magnesium & Arnica Body Butter

For customers who enjoy the Magnesium & Arnica collection, the soap and Body Butter create a straightforward two-step routine:

Cleanse with the Goat Milk Soap → Moisturize and massage with the Body Butter.

Our Organic Magnesium & Arnica Body Butter combines magnesium chloride and arnica with avocado oil, shea butter and mango butter.

Its rich texture makes it well suited for moisturizing and massage after bathing.

This is also why we offer the two together in our Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap & Body Butter Bundle.

Is This Soap for Sensitive Skin?

I would be careful with that label.

Some customers with sensitive-feeling skin may enjoy goat milk soap, while others may react to fragrances, essential oils or other ingredients.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends fragrance-free cleansers for people with eczema or very sensitive skin because fragrance can trigger irritation or flare-ups.

Since our soap contains bergamot essential oil, we would not describe it as an eczema treatment or universally suitable for sensitive skin.

If you know that your skin is reactive, patch testing a new skin-care product first is a sensible step. Dermatologists also recommend testing new products before widespread use when skin is sensitive.

What Makes This Soap Part of The Smel Gud Shop?

The Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap reflects several things that matter to us:

  • handcrafted, small-batch production

  • thoughtfully selected ingredients

  • creamy goat milk soap

  • magnesium chloride and arnica

  • bergamot essential oil

  • a body-care routine that pairs cleansing with moisturizing and massage

It is not meant to replace medical treatment or act as a pain-relief product.

It is simply a distinctive cleansing bar designed to fit naturally into the same body-care ritual as the rest of our Magnesium & Arnica collection.

Final Thoughts

A good body-care routine does not need to be complicated.

Start with cleansing, follow with moisture, and choose products that make the routine enjoyable enough to repeat.

Our Magnesium & Arnica Goat Milk Soap brings together goat milk, plant oils, magnesium chloride, arnica and bergamot essential oil in a handcrafted cleansing bar with a rich, creamy lather.

Pair it with our Magnesium & Arnica Body Butter for an easy cleanse-and-moisturize routine.
